Nebraska schools move towards alternative learning environment

LINCOLN, Neb. - All schools in Nebraska will be operating in an alternative learning environment for the remainder of the school year due to the coronavirus.

Under Governor Pete Rickett's Directive Health Measure, Nebraska schools have canceled all extracurricular activities and will remain closed until May 31.

This includes canceling the traditional graduation ceremonies, but schools will determine alternative methods to honor the class of 2020.

Schools are teaming up with the Southeast District Health Department, the Nebraska Department of Education, and other state and local officials to monitor the pandemic and will continue to communicate updates to the public.
